Proto Matrix Rail Empty
PostSubject: Proto Matrix Rail   Proto Matrix Rail EmptySun May 18, 2008 5:44 am

I just picked up a PMR about 2 months ago. I was running an ion and I aws tired of all the crap it gave me so I finally got fed up enough to buy a new gun.

The PMR beats my ion hands down.

Pros
____

Lightweight, the grip frame is a composite plastic which makes it crazy light. The after market UL frame is slightly heavier, yet is still incredibly light.

Fast, thing shoots ropes

Hardly kicks at all, makes aiming a second nature thing

Easy to program, board is pretty simple

Easy to clean, I can clean my entire bolt in 30 seconds

Stock eyes are fantastic, I haven't had a chop yet

Stock board is fantastic, same as the board in DM7's

Cons
_____

Will require 2 upgrades after a while: feedneck, Back cap. Both are plastic and inevitably will wear out after a while. I suggest just replacing them out of the box.

(Some nice ups to get if you have money: Trigger, some people don't like it, some do. ASA, it's not on/off)

Board access is tedious, it doesn't take long and it isn't hard, but its like taking out the trash. It gets annoying after a while.

Reg can unscrew during play, you just need to make sure you tighten it before a game

All in all its a great little marker. I personally chose it over the mini. If your thinking about getting one, get the PMR SE. It comes with some of the upgrades that a regular PMR needs (like backcap and feedneck) for only $20 more than a regualr PMR.

Regular PMR: 9/10

PMR Special edition: 10/10

(These rating are in accordance of price to performance.)

10/10? this is a rating over mid end guns right? not all guns in general?
